Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, Lagos State Police command, has arrested a 30 year old cleaner named Ahuja Sylvester, at a Hotel in Warri, Delta State.
The Hotel cleaner was arrested last Friday, for defrauding a company of N2million naira and attempted to collect another N500milion, after hacking into the company’s email address.
The Police source revealed that the suspect hacked into the e-mail of a Lagos based company sometime in April, disguised as the Managing Director and instructed the firm’s accountant to credit his bank account with N2million naira.
The suspect met his waterloo in June, after using the same approach to request for the payment of N500million into another bank account.
From investigations carried out by the Decoy team of Rapid Response Squad, it was discovered that the initial N1 million naira was withdrawn with a debit card belonging to Ahuja Sylvester.
Further investigations revealed that Ahuja denied hacking into the account of any company; claiming his friend Emmanuel, an NYSC corps member, was the culprit.
