Grace Akintaro, 24, used an online dating site Match.com to scam seven men of £100,000.

The lady posed as a woman called Amanda Jenson and contacted men who were tricked into sending Grace money, thinking they were arranging dates.

She told Woolwich Crown Court on Monday, “I was naive and used by this person I was in love with”.

She also said the fraud wasn’t her plan. Four out of the seven who fell for Grace’s scheme triggered the investigation by reporting it to the Action Fraud.
Akintaro was charged also with an individual named Victoria Nwogu, who confessed to laundering £3,490 from the scam, but she was cleared because the prosecution offered no evidence against her.

The fraud took place between August 2015-December 2015.

The Court heard that Grace made a minimum of 16 trips to the bank to withdraw money sent by the men.

The victims however said they are expecting the money they loaned to her back.
