EPL MATCH DAY 30: SUPER WEEKEND
By Adenike Olusiku
After having to endure the boredom of the international week, it’s great to have something to look forward to this weekend.
With mouthwatering ties like the Merseyside derby, Arsenal playing host to Manchester City, also a London derby with Chelsea playing Crystal Palace and Manchester United hosting Westbrom.
The Merseyside derby which is also know as the “Friendly Derby” is one of the most dirtiest Premier League matches with 21 red cards in 49 derby matches. Looking back at past matches the derby is one of the most anticipated fixtures on the Premier League calendar so we should expect fireworks from both teams.
Giving the immense pressure Arsene Wenger is under with the current run of Premier League losses, this match could have come at a better time. With the first leg ending in a loss for Wenger after they threw away a goal lead to be defeated by two goals to one and who can forget the amazing pass from Kevin de Bruyne to Sterling for the first goal …it was mind blowing.
And as for Manchester United, all they have to do is win and hope the other teams drop points. Although they lost players like Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marouane Fellaini during the international break, they should be able to dig out a result from this match but also having in mind their poor home form and the fact that Westbrom beat Arsenal 3-1 just before the International break.
One thing is for sure about this weekend …it is going to be action packed!!!
