FG Declares October 2nd Public Holiday To Mark Independence

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, the 2nd of October, public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 57th Anniversary.

 

The Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Abdulraman Dambazua Rtd, on behalf of Federal Government made the declaration, congratulating Nigerians.

 

The Minister urged Nigerians to use the independence celebration to advocate for a strong united Nigeria, sustain the collective efforts, maintain and strengthen the unity of Nigeria.

 

He also revealed that Government is making efforts to democratically promote national unity, economic growth and political development.

 

In a statement issued on Wednesday, by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Interior, Eng Abubakar Magaji, he said Nigeria has made progress on its citizens and globally in the past 57years.

 

He encouraged Nigerians to continually love the country, because a sense of ownership of one’s country is the key to sustainable development.

 

The minister appreciated Nigerians, locally and internationally, wishing them a Happy 57th Independence Anniversary.
