After recently just dropping his latest single with Drake “Come Closer” Wizkid in an interview with Dj Semtex says he does “free shows in Nigeria.”

The conversation began with Wizkid praising Nigerians saying, “Nigerians are everywhere in the world, we are hustlers, so you know the Nigerians definitely love me”.

Then he continues with, “Big shout to my Naija people. I love them too much. That’s why I do a lot back home. Sometimes I do free shows. I just pull up and say ‘Hey, Wizkid, free show.’ Sometimes I charge like a dollar for a show, sometimes I take like N1000, sometimes when I do shows at the Fela shrine, back with Femi (Kuti) and all that.”

Twitter Nigeria has called out Wizkid wondering when there was ever free shows and if they missed it. Some Wizkid fans though did back the singers words, claiming he did do a free show last year at the Fela shrine.

Through the drama Wizkid remained silent, however, tonight via his official Twitter account, he has spoken up about it.

One of his followers posted the unedited clip of the interview and it shows Wizkid stating that the free shows were at the African Shrine in Lagos, Nigeria.

Wizkid commented on the follower’s tweet by saying:
