Meghan Markle Deletes All Her Social Media Accounts
The new year is off to a fresh start for Meghan Markle as she has deleted all her social media accounts.
Kensington Place confirmed the news saying: “Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years, however as she has not used them for some time, she has taken the decision to close them”
The 36 years-old actress has done this in preparations for her wedding to Prince Harry which will take place on the 18th of May this year.
None of the royal family members have their own public social media accounts, instead, updates about the family’s appearances and daily lives are shared on the Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts by Kensington Palace.
The exception is the Duke of York who sometimes writes tweets himself but signs them “AY”.
Markle will come under Kensington Palace after her wedding and social media postings will be made on her behalf by its communications staff.
In December 2017, the US actress had 1.9 million people following her posts on Instagram, and more than 350,000 Twitter followers.
Her Facebook page had almost 800,000 likes, according to BBC Online.
