Mr Eazi Is The First African Artiste Featured On Apple Music’s ‘Up Next’ Series

by | 28th July 2017

In April 2017, Apple’s music streaming platform, Apple Music, launched Up Next – a series aimed at celebrating emerging artistes from all around the world.

The first artiste featured on the series was 24-year-old rapper and singer from Atlanta, 6lack (“Prblms”); followed by 20-year-old Norwegian singer-songwriter Sigrid (“Don’t Kill My Vibe”) in May; and 19-year-old r&b singer Khalid (“Location”) in June.

Mr Eazi just joined the really impressive list for the month of July – making him the first African artiste to be featured. With the growing global recognition of other Nigerian artistes like Wizkid, Davido and Tekno, it’s not surprising that the music industry is looking here for its next big star.

Like with all of Apple Music’s three previous Up Next artistes, the streaming service will promote Mr. Eazi’s songs on its playlists and on the iTunes store.

The “Skintight” singer also appeared on the Emmy-winning American talk show, Late Late Show with James Corden, last night to perform a Fela-inspired medley of two of his biggest songs, “In The Morning” and “Leg Over”.
