Not Again! Diddy Changes Name To ‘Love’
Over the weekend hip-hop mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, did what we have seen him do in the past, and that’s to change his stage name.
Combs, who was celebrating his birthday, posted a video on Instagram saying he will not be answering to his other monikers any longer.
In the video he said, “What’s up y’all, I have some very serious news. I been praying on this and I decided…I knew it was risky cause it could come off as corny to some people. Like, ‘Yo.’ I decided to change my name again. I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. So my new name is Love aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy or any of my other monikers, but Love or Brother Love, ok.”
He captioned the video, “I did it again BREAKING NEWS!!!! MY NEW NAME IS LOVE OR BROTHER LOVE!!! Or NOTHIN!.”
Born Sean John Combs, most of his stage names have been slight iterations of his birth name, or of his childhood nickname “puff.” Since the 90’s, during the earlier years of his career, he went from “Puff Daddy” to “Sean John” to “Puffy” to “P. Diddy” finally settling on “Diddy”.
When you have as much money as he has, you can change you name to whatever you want to.
It’s not yet sure if Combs was really serious about the name change or was just pulling everyone’s legs. Guess we will have to wait and see.
