Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 99th and 100th goals in European club football as Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 2-1.

The four-time Ballon d’Or-winner hadn’t scored for six Champions League games but, with his side 1-0 down, came up trumps when they needed him most.

His first on the night came when he beat Manuel Neuer from close range, before a personal duel ensued between Ronaldo and Bayern’s No.1.

The goalkeeper looked set to come out on top with save after save — until the ex-Manchester United star became the first-ever centurion in European football.

It’s been quite a journey for the famous No.7 and achieving such a feet is a great accomplishment.

His European debut came on October 1, 2003 in a 2-1 defeat for United in Stuttgart, and Ronaldo won a penalty.

However, he would have to wait nearly two years for his first goal — in a 3-0 third qualifying round victory over Debrecen.

And it would not be until the knock-out stages of the next season that he got his first goal in the Champions League proper.

Ronaldo put United 4-0 up in the famous 7-1 victory over Roma, with his second arriving just five minutes later.

In the 2007-08 season, he finished as the competition’s top goal scorer and a winner, scoring the opener in the all-English final against Chelsea.

In all, he scored 16 European goals in six seasons at United before joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2009.

After a slow start in which he scored seven and six in his first two campaigns at the Bernabeu before going on a run of five consecutive seasons of hitting double figures.

The 2013-14 was his most fruitful, with a record 17 for a single campaign as Real Madrid won their tenth title and Ronaldo his second.

And he hit his first Uefa Super Cup goals in the 2-0 win over Sevilla later that year.

Ronaldo followed that up with ten in the following campaign before hitting a record 11 goals in the group stage en route to 16 in all as he won his third title.

In this campaign, he has scored just four — but reached another milestone only he has achieved.
