The sad incident happened on Monday, October 9, 2017, to a hair stylist identified as Toyin Ijiyemi.

The tax officials, who are from Akure South Local Government Area of the state, stormed Toyin’s shop and asked her to pay the rate for her shop.

Toyin, unable to pay, pleaded with the officials to give her time but her pleas fell on deaf ears.

The stylist struggled with the officials as they tried to seize her television set over refusal to pay the radio and television tax.

It was gathered that she fell and hit her head on the floor while struggling to reclaim her TV.

It was reported that the government workers took the television to their vehicle and left the scene of the incident without attending to the deceased.

The deceased body was noticed by a woman, who came to buy sachet water and discovered that Toyin was unconscious where she laid on the floor in her shop and raised an alarm.

This attracted neighbors who rushed in and started pouring water on Toyin to revive her.

When it was realized that Toyin had passed away the matter was reported at the B Division Police station, Oke-Aro and the tax officials were arrested.
