American Rapper A$AP Rocky, is set to face trial in connection with allegations surrounding a shooting incident involving his former childhood friend, Terell Ephron.
The incident, which occurred two years ago, recently garnered public attention when a viral video surfaced, purportedly showing A$AP Rocky discharging a handgun at Ephron.
During the second day of a court hearing, it was confirmed that A$AP Rocky would be tried for accusations of firing a pistol during a dispute with Ephron, resulting in minor injuries. The rapper has pleaded not guilty. He now faces two felony counts of assault with a firearm, potentially leading to a nine-year prison sentence if found guilty.
The charges originate from a clash between A$AP Rocky and Ephron, who was part of the A$AP Mob hip-hop collective and had known ASAP Rocky since their time together in a New York high school. In a separate legal action, Ephron claims to be a victim of assault, battery, negligence, and emotional distress. He alleges that A$AP Rocky intentionally lured him to an undisclosed location outside the W Hotel in Hollywood on November 6, 2021, to discuss a disagreement.
The incident, captured on CCTV, is also depicted in a video circulating on social media, showing Rakim displaying and firing a gun. However, ASAP Rocky’s legal team denies that he is the individual shown in the video.
A$AP Rocky, currently in a relationship with music icon Rihanna, has ascended to fame in the music industry. The couple shares two children.
