Lojay Unveils Soulful New Single, ‘Somebody Like You’

Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, recently disclosed her past involvement in online trolling before rising to fame.

In an appearance on the “I Said What I Said” podcast, co-hosted by Feyikemi Abudu and Jola Ayeye, the 22-year-old artist revealed that she managed a fan page dedicated to rapper Nicki Minaj, which she used to engage in trolling activities. She admitted, “I had a troll page; I had a Nicki Minaj fan page before I became Ayra Starr.”

Ayra Starr expressed a lingering desire to partake in online trolling, even contemplating creating a fake account to reciprocate the negative comments she receives. She humorously noted, “Sometimes I want to be a troll on the internet, probably with a fake page so that when people insult me, I won’t feel bad because I do the same,” which elicited laughter from the podcast hosts.

Drawing inspiration from global superstar Rihanna, known for her sharp retorts on social media, Ayra Starr reflected on the appeal of such interactions. She remarked, “Rihanna back then used to clap back at people back to back,” highlighting her admiration for Rihanna’s approach to handling online

Despite her playful musings, Ayra Starr has been vocal about the challenges of dealing with online trolls, particularly concerning criticisms of her fashion choices and public demeanor. Her candidness offers insight into the complexities celebrities face in navigating public perception and personal expression in the digital age.
