In a night filled with glamour and heartfelt celebrations, music producer and Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy received the Extraordinary Achievement Award for his unparalleled impact on the Nigerian music scene. Known for discovering and nurturing some of Africa’s biggest music stars—including Rema, Ayra Starr, and Korede Bello—Don Jazzy’s visionary leadership has redefined the global reach of Afrobeats. In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to his fans and collaborators, stating, “This award is not just for me, but for every young talent striving to make a mark in the industry.”
The legendary Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating his illustrious career spanning over three decades. A true Nollywood icon, RMD has delivered unforgettable performances in classic and contemporary films, earning him a place as one of Nigeria’s most respected actors. Taking the stage to receive his award, he reflected on his journey, saying, “This recognition means a lot. It is a testament to the years of hard work, passion, and dedication to the art of storytelling.”
Adding to the night’s excitement, Toyin Abraham and Chidi Mokeme were recognized with the Trailblazer Award, an accolade reserved for industry game-changers. Toyin Abraham, a powerhouse in Nollywood with blockbuster hits such as Ijakumo, The Ghost and the Tout Too, and Alakada Reloaded, has continuously pushed the boundaries of storytelling. Meanwhile, Chidi Mokeme’s resurgence in films like Shanty Town has reaffirmed his status as a dynamic and fearless actor. In her speech, Toyin Abraham dedicated the award to aspiring female filmmakers, while Chidi Mokeme described the recognition as “fuel to keep breaking new grounds in Nollywood.”
