The Chairman and CEO, Makinz Sports Promotions Limited and Makinz Football Club Abuja; Chief Akinboni Koleola Benson Osebaba has acknowledged Team Ondo for their remarkable start at the Niger Delta Sports Festival which kicked off on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Chief Osebaba, also known as International Coach Benson; who has made huge impact in grassroots football in Ondo State, commended Team Ondo for the passion and zeal they have expressed so far in the tournament/competition after
the Rising Stars arrived the venue of the competition
in grand style, already gearing up to bring glory to the Sunshine State.
As an experienced Grassroots Sports Developer, Chief Osebaba who understands what sports development is all about, and has a track record of remarkable success in Grassroots Youth and Sports Development in Ondo State and abroad has pledged his support for the contingents from Ondo State.
Led by a dynamic and versatile coach, the team of gifted young athletes have trained tirelessly for months, as they are ready to represent Ondo State in various sports, including track and field, football, basketball, volleyball and other sports.
So far, Team Ondo have made their presence felt, with their vibrant outlook, outfit and infectious team spirit as they have started competing in various events, demonstrated unimaginable skills, determination, and teamwork.
In the spirit of sportsmanship, Chief Osebaba has supported and encouraged Team Ondo to make Ondo Kingdom proud, exceed expectations; make history with a lasting impact in the sports festival, grab all the points and win multiple medals in all the sports.
Interestingly, Chief Osebaba has been making impact in Ondo State through sports and other sectors, especially with the initiation of the most effective Grassroot Sports Development initiatives in Ondo State.
One of them is the OSEBABA CUP: Ondo Women Football Competition which holds every year in the state.
Since its inception in 2023, it has produced emerging football stars, who are currently plying their trade in the NPL and NPFL, with the prospects and potential of going to Europe soon.
This initiative is also a platform to create opportunities for potential football stars, through trials, nurture them and make their dreams come true.
Beyond Ondo State, Makinz Football Club located in Abuja, has also discovered, nurtured and produced emerging football stars from Nigeria, who have moved to various clubs in the United Kingdom and Europe.
So far, Team Ondo has shown preparedness to make the Sunshine State proud, and inspire generations of athletes to come, through their performance.
