Nigerian music legend Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba (formerly 2Face Idibia), has been appointed as the Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach by Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
The announcement was made during a recent visit by 2Baba to the Governor’s office. Governor Alia expressed gratitude for the singer’s support and highlighted his potential to contribute significantly to the state’s cultural and community development initiatives.
Born in Jos, Plateau State, 2Baba hails from the Idoma ethnic group in Benue State. He attended Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi before pursuing studies at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu.
Despite his previous statements about not being inclined toward politics, 2Baba has consistently engaged in social advocacy. In 2009, he was appointed as an ambassador by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to raise awareness about counterfeit products.
His new role in the Benue State government aligns with his longstanding commitment to community development and cultural promotion. As Technical Adviser, 2Baba is expected to leverage his experience and influence to enhance the state’s entertainment industry and foster community engagement.
This appointment marks a significant step in integrating prominent figures from the arts into governance roles, reflecting a broader trend of leveraging cultural icons to drive social and community initiatives.
