DJ Tunez—born Michael Babatunde Adeyinka—was just another hungry Nigerian-American DJ grinding in New York. He had opened a show for Wizkid in the city but barely exchanged words with him. Weeks later, a few DMs sparked something more. Then came the fateful invitation: Wizkid told Tunez to pull up to his hotel in Lagos.
“We smoked a little and talked a lot,” Tunez recalled. “Wiz looked me dead in the eye and said, ‘We’re going to take over the world.’ That was the moment. I knew I was in.”
That night turned into a career-defining pivot. Wizkid made Tunez his official international DJ, signing him to Starboy Entertainment. What followed? Global tours, sold-out arenas, hit records, and a bond that fused music, loyalty, and movement into something transcendent.

The Starboy Seal (2015): Tunez officially joined the Starboy crew, becoming the backbone of Wizkid’s live sound across continents.
Hitmaker Status: In 2016, Tunez dropped “Iskaba” with Wande Coal, proving he wasn’t just a DJ—but a bonafide hitmaker.
Loyal to the Core: In 2024, Tunez stunned fans by saying he would turn down a $10 million gig if it clashed with a Wizkid show.
“It’s legacy over money. Wiz believed in me when no one else did.”
Opening Doors: Tunez and Wizkid helped lift others, like Oxlade—who performed at London’s O2 Arena even before dropping his first single.
