Afrofusion rising star Awosika Olayemi Josiah, popularly known as Fido, has blown the lid off a financial fallout with his former record label, Inner Circle Entertainment, accusing them of pocketing almost all of his advance for the breakout single “Awolowo.”
In a candid radio chat, Fido alleged that although the deal was worth $20,000, he only saw ₦1.5 million (about $1,000) in hand, claiming the label kept a staggering 95% of the money.
He vented with raw honesty: “I was transparent with you guys… the advance for Awolowo was $20,000. They took 95% and just gave me ₦1.5 million.”
The singer lamented that the financial strain crippled his career momentum, derailing the push he needed after his breakout moment. While his legal team is reportedly working to untangle the matter, Fido admits the setback has left lasting scars.
