Nollywood comedian and skit-maker, Ijoba Lande, well known as Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, is once again caught in the eye of controversy—this time, dragged into the murky world of AI deepfakes and blackmail.

This happened just five months after weathering a messy cheating scandal that tore apart his marriage.

The New Scandal Unfolds

On August 19, 2025, Ijoba Lande sounded the alarm on Instagram, exposing a fake AI-generated video that allegedly shows him naked in bed with a married woman—whom he says is the wife of a Nigerian senator. According to him, the clip, already circulated among his benefactors and colleagues, is nothing more than a malicious attempt to ruin his reputation.

But it didn’t stop there. He revealed that the creators of the video are demanding ₦5 million in hush money, a move he labeled pure blackmail. Calling for action, Lande urged the Nigerian government to step in with urgent regulations to checkmate the abuse of artificial intelligence.

A History of Scandal

This isn’t the comedian’s first public storm. Earlier in 2025, his personal life unraveled when he accused his estranged wife, Darasimi (Dara), of cheating with more than 20 men in the entertainment industry—among them, actor Baba Tee.

At first, Baba Tee denied any involvement, demanding proof and claiming he didn’t even know Dara. Weeks later, he backtracked, admitting to a sexual encounter during a “Truth or Dare” game, insisting he had been drunk and unaware of her marital status.

Dara later went public with a tearful apology, admitting her wrongs and begging for forgiveness. While Lande accepted her apology “for his spiritual peace,” he made it clear there was no chance of reconciliation.
