The rhythm of opportunity is beating once again at Mavin Global, as the Afrobeats powerhouse opens applications for Future Five 2025 — a cutting-edge graduate internship designed to shape the future of Africa’s music business.
Founded in 2021, Future Five has become a launchpad for young professionals eager to make their mark behind the scenes of the continent’s booming entertainment industry. Over the years, more than 3,200 applicants have vied for a spot, with past participants now thriving in various corners of the African creative ecosystem — from digital marketing and licensing to artist management and A&R.
This year’s edition continues Mavin’s mission to blend ambition with real-world experience, offering participants a six-month immersive journey inside the label’s operations. Fellows will gain hands-on exposure to live projects, industry mentorship, and strategic business development — working side by side with Mavin’s top executives and creatives.
Applicants aged 18 to 25 can apply across five specialised tracks, each reflecting a crucial facet of today’s music economy:
Digital Intelligence
New Business
Content Licensing
Audience Development
Artist Development
According to Don Jazzy, founder and CEO of Mavin Global, the initiative is a call to spotlight the builders behind the beats.
“Everyone talks about discovering the next big artist,” he said. “But we also need to nurture the next generation of music executives — the thinkers, the innovators, and the strategists shaping the industry’s future.”
Tega Oghenejobo, Mavin’s President and COO, emphasised that Future Five is more than an internship — it’s a reinvention of how the African music industry grooms talent.
“This is about creating long-term value,” he explained. “By training the right minds, we’re ensuring that Africa’s creative ecosystem remains sustainable, competitive, and globally respected.”
With its blend of mentorship, innovation, and real-world engagement, Future Five 2025 reinforces Mavin’s legacy — not just as a record label but as a talent incubator driving the evolution of Africa’s music and entertainment scene.
