Netflix has officially confirmed that Stranger Things Season 5 — the grand finale of one of television’s most beloved series — will premiere on November 26, 2025, with Volume 2 arriving on December 25 and the final episode on December 31.
Created by the Duffer Brothers, this last chapter returns to Fall 1987, diving straight into the aftermath of Season 4’s devastating events. Hawkins is now a quarantined war zone, its residents caught in a desperate fight to “find and kill Vecna,” the monstrous villain who tore through the fabric between worlds.
A Legacy of Unforgettable Moments
Across its four seasons, Stranger Things has cemented itself in pop culture history — blending 1980s nostalgia with supernatural storytelling and raw emotion. Fans still talk about those heart-stopping moments that defined the show:
Joyce Byers’ Christmas lights — the haunting way a mother reached her missing son.
The Season 2 Snow Ball dance, where childhood chaos gave way to one fleeting, tender moment.
Eddie Munson’s “Master of Puppets” performance in the Upside-Down — heavy metal meets heroism.
Max’s escape from Vecna to Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” now immortalised as one of television’s most iconic scenes.
The final season will feature eight episodes, including “The Crawl,” “The Turnbow Trap,” and the fittingly titled finale, “The Rightside Up.”
What to Expect
According to co-creator Ross Duffer, this is “as big as any finale we’ve ever done” — a cinematic conclusion to a story that began in the quiet town of Hawkins and exploded into a global phenomenon. Expect high-stakes action, emotional payoffs, and the return of the full ensemble cast — including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and David Harbour.
With its release split across the holiday season, Stranger Things 5 will close out 2025 with the same eerie suspense, heart, and nostalgia that defined it from the start.
The Upside-Down is stirring again. This time, for the last time.
