VeryDarkMan, Mr Jollof Engage In Fight Onboard Abuja Flight

A dramatic confrontation between popular social critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) and comedian Mr Jollof brought boarding to a halt on a United Nigeria Airlines flight in Asaba, culminating in both men being forcibly removed from the aircraft before take-off.

The altercation, captured in a viral video, unfolded aboard Flight UN0523 as passengers were settling in. The footage shows the entertainers wrestling in the aisle while startled travellers and cabin crew tried to pull them apart. According to the airline, the crew acted “swiftly and decisively” to restore order, deplaning both men and handing them over to airport security.

Inside the Fight

Witness clips and later statements from VDM revealed that the clash escalated quickly. VDM alleged that Mr Jollof threw the first punch during their argument, before biting him on the chest in the scuffle. He later shared a video displaying the bite mark, joking that the comedian “almost redesigned” his tattoo.

What Sparked the Confrontation

VDM attributed the melee to long-standing friction between them, built up through weeks of harsh online exchanges. He said he confronted Mr Jollof as soon as they boarded, insisting the comedian had repeatedly “run his mouth” on social media.

According to VDM, the verbal confrontation turned physical when Mr. Jollof struck him, triggering the now-viral tussle.

Aviation Authorities Respond

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) condemned the incident, calling the behaviour “dangerous, disruptive, and completely unacceptable.” Regulators noted that in-flight altercations violate the Civil Aviation Act 2022, which prohibits any conduct that threatens crew, passengers, or aircraft operations.

Aviation analysts say both men could face strict penalties — including fines or temporary flight bans — if the investigation confirms the violence occurred onboard or during boarding.

United Nigeria Airlines Takes a Firm Stand

The airline reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for unruly passengers, emphasising that the safety of travellers and crew comes first.

As of now, both VDM and Mr. Jollof remain in security custody pending further questioning, while the viral clash continues to dominate social media debates about celebrity conduct and inflight safety.
