AFCON Qualifiers: Lookman, Osimhen Score As Nigeria Beat Benin

Super Eagles players, Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen on Saturday scored during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers match against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

The first goal was scored by Lookman in the extra time of the first half, while Osimhen added the second one in the 78th-minute of the second half. With so much zeal to secure victory for the Super Eagles, Lookman went ahead to score the third goal in 83rd minute.

Lookman was in top form at the last AFCON 2023 earlier in the year where Nigeria secured second place after the tournament. He replicated his outstanding form in his club Atalanta leading his team to the finals of the Europa Cup where they won the trophy. Recently he was nominated for the FIFA Balon d’Or award.

Osimhen, 25, on deadline day, joined Galatasaray on loan on Thursday.
