AFRIFF 13th Edition: ‘Phoenix Fury’ Wins Best Film Award

The Nigerian film Phoenix Fury has been awarded the coveted Best Film at the 13th edition of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF).

The film triumph over other notable entries with at the prestigious ceremony which was held at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos on November 10, 2024.

Phoenix Fury was directed by Fizzy Thatcher as it also received the Best Director award, solidifying its impact on the African film landscape.

The festival, which showcased the best in African cinema attracted filmmakers and industry figures from across the continent.

Phoenix Fury is celebrated for its gripping storytelling and strong directorial vision, which has garnered widespread acclaim.

This marks a significant achievement for Nollywood, further establishing the festival as an important platform for celebrating and promoting African films on the global stage
