Arsenal on Tuesday beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium; to secure their first Champions League win.
Goals from two Gunners, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz separated the two sides at the end of the competitive match.
Kai Havertz found the back of the net with an opener from Leandro Trossard’s cross before Bukayo Saka added a second via a free-kick.
Mikel Merino made his Gunners debut from the bench as Arsenal performed superbly to beat the Paris Saint-Germain side with youthful players.
It was a classical display from Havertz who went between two defenders to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma to Leandro Trossard’s teasing cross with a towering header.
The Gunners, known for their expertise in set-pieces, did not waste the opportunity to convert such a chance into their second goal, with a finish from Bukayo Saka.
The goal tally for Arsenal would have increased if Trossard had converted the chance made available to him.
Unfortunately, he was denied by Donnarumma from close range soon after the second goal, and Gabriel Martinelli twice shot too close to the PSG goalkeeper following the break.
