Spanish football manager, Mikel Arteta has urged Bukayo Saka to continue pushing his boundaries by drawing inspiration from his childhood idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, following a brilliant start to the 2024/2025 Premier League season.
The Arsenal winger has already netted five goals and delivered 10 assists across 12 matches, impressing both fans and manager alike.
Arteta noted that Saka’s progression each year is evident, pointing out the steady increase in his numbers. Reflecting on Saka’s early admiration for Ronaldo, Arteta suggested that aspiring to reach such lofty heights could only benefit the young forward’s growth.
While Ronaldo’s meteoric rise at Manchester United was initially unexpected, Arteta believes Saka shares the same qualities that made Ronaldo a global phenomenon.
“It’s about mentality, work ethic, and the ability to develop his skills within a dominant team,” Arteta stated. He emphasized that Saka has the right environment to mirror Ronaldo’s success and that his evolution into a more consistent player is already apparent.
With his current form and determination, Saka is well on his way to enhancing his game further, buoyed by teammates who will support his ambitions.
