Barcelona has continued their transfer business signing Arturo Vidal from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.
The Chilean midfielder was presented as a Barcelona player yesterday after the deal was completed last week. He signed a three-year contract with Barcelona after being linked with Inter Milan. He joins Brazilian winger Malcom, and Brazilian midfielder Arthur whose move was fast-tracked.
Speaking to reporters for the first time as a Barcelona player, he stated, “To be honest I am very happy. I am looking forward to starting training with my team-mates, to wearing such a famous shirt, and to doing important things here.”
He serves as a replacement for Paulinho who returned to Guangzhou Evergrande on loan and to bolster Barca’s midfield with Andres Iniesta leaving the club for Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
Vidal played in Bayern Munich for three seasons making 132 appearances scoring 22 goals. He won the Bundesliga in each of his three seasons.
