Nigerian hip-hop artist, Blaqbonez has shared an interesting revelation about rising star Asake, stating that the artist used to serve as his backup singer before attaining fame.
According to Blaqbonez, he has been friends with his colleagues, including Fireboy DML, Asake, Superboi Cheque, Yhemolee, and Zamorra, since their early days in the music industry at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ife, Osun State.
During those earlier years, the “Sex Over Love” artist mentioned that Zamorra and Asake would assist him in the studio by providing background vocals for his tracks.
Blaqbonez disclosed this fascinating detail during a recent conversation with reality star Kimoprah on Hip TV’s program, Trending. It highlights the interconnectedness and collaborative nature of their musical journeys.
“I have known Fireboy, Asake, Superboi Cheque, Yhemolee, and Zamorra since OAU days”, he said.
“Zamorra and Asake have always been great at backups. You know this thing Asake does now with his vocals, he has understood this thing from time.
“So, I used to ask him to help me figure out these things. They’ve always been influential in my music journey because I feel like every phase of BlaqBonez helped build the BlaqBonez that I am now.”
