Ikeja, Lagos, came alive on Monday, September 22, 2025, as Atume Philip Terfa, an experienced Website Content Developer, Corporate Communication Professional, and Alumnus of the institution, officially launched his highly anticipated book titled “Visual Literacy and Strategies for Effective Communication.”

The event was graced by top officials of the prestigious institution, including the General Manager, Mr. Asunmo Olakunle Olayide (MBA, M.Sc., ACIM, arpa, anipr, AISM, ACICRM, PhD in view), and the Head of Admissions, Mr. Christopher Lawal, alongside staff, students, and distinguished guests. The ceremony also featured the vibrant and engaging professional compere, Gbemisola Modupe Akinkunmi, who ensured the event flowed seamlessly with energy and excitement from start to finish.

The event was a memorable and inspiring celebration, featuring a lineup of impactful activities from dignitaries both physically present and joining online. The compere, Gbemisola Modupe Akinkunmi, set the ball rolling with a warm and lively introduction of guests. This was followed by a captivating Keynote Address delivered by the Group Head, Digital Media for Silverbird, Mr. Joshua Olorunfemi, who commended the author’s creativity and emphasised the importance of visual literacy in the modern communication landscape.

In another highlight, seasoned and award-winning journalist and Online Editor, Mr. Kunle Awosiyan, delivered an insightful book overview, breaking down the depth, relevance, and academic strength of the publication. The event reached a thrilling peak when Mr. Christopher Lawal, Head of Admissions at Rome Business School, unveiled the book in grand style, marking a significant milestone in the author’s professional and academic journey.

After the unveiling, Atume Philip Terfa took to the stage to deliver a heartfelt author’s speech, sharing his inspiration, writing journey, and the purpose behind the book. He noted that his seven years at Silverbird Communications Limited as a Website Content Developer and Online Editor motivated him to channel his experience and academic insights into a work that would bridge the gap between creativity and corporate communication.

He explained that “Visual Literacy and Strategies for Effective Communication” serves as a guide for professionals in the creative and communication industries, designed to help readers identify and harness emerging opportunities in Nigeria, across Africa, and globally.

“This book was written to enlighten and educate individuals in the creative sector so they can maximise their potential, both intellectually and financially,” Philip stated. “From a communication standpoint, it also breaks down strategies that enhance workplace efficiency and clarity across corporate and public institutions.”

The book is structured into two major sections — Visual Literacy and Strategies for Effective Communication — making it both a creative guide and an academic resource. It offers valuable insights for students, content creators, digital marketers, advertising professionals, communication strategists, and corporate teams in departments such as Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, Operations, and Digital Media.

In his remarks, Mr. Asunmo Olakunle Olayide praised the author for his intellectual drive and creativity, describing the work as “a timely contribution to Africa’s evolving communication landscape.” He emphasised that the book aligns with Rome Business School’s mission to nurture innovative leaders who apply knowledge to solve real-world challenges.

The author further disclosed that the book draws inspiration from three topics taught during his Executive Master’s in Corporate Communication at Rome Business School, which he analysed as case studies to make the book more practical and relatable.

After the official unveiling, attendees, both on-site and online, commended the author for creating a resource that bridges academia, creativity, and corporate professionalism. The event concluded with networking, photos, and book signings, leaving guests inspired by the power of communication and visual storytelling.
