Ben Bruce Urges FG To Stage Global Tour For Anthony Joshua
By Philip Atume
Senator Ben Murray Bruce has called on the Federal Government to organise a global tour for the current heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, because the whole world is celebrating him.
While speaking in one of his “Common Sense” series, the senator also said that Nigeria can improve her image by associating with this brilliant young man more than the billions we spend on our embassies and high commissions.
He also said, “Joshua may well be the most popular man in world sport today and the world media is playing up Anthony Joshua as a British citizen.”
He said even though Nigeria rejected Joshua and Britain did a lot for him, this is the time to put all that behind embrace him, and make him an ambassador for brand Nigeria.
He further stated that taking Joshua on a global tour alongside some Nollywood and music stars would spotlight Nigeria’s culture.
He also revealed that one of the ways we can change our image in Nigeria using Anthony Joshua, is the way Jamaica used Usain Bolt‘s status as a sport celebrity to change their international image, attracting tourist and businessmen to Jamaica.
