The 2023 BET Awards was held last night and we were proud when Nigerian superstars Burna Boy and Tems both won awards.
Burna Boy won the Best International Act, taking his total number of wins in that category to four in said category (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023).
Tems on the other hand won the award for “Best Collaboration” category for her contribution on the Grammy award-winning song, “Wait For U” with Future and Drake. This would be Tems’ second consecutive BET Awards win after she clinched an award in Best International Act” category in 2023.
Also Nigerian global superstar Davido took to the stage as he thrilled the audience performing his new smash hit single “Unavailable”. His performance made it the second year in a role an Afrobeats artist would be performing at the main event following Fireboy‘s performance last year.
This years edition of the awards celebrated 50 years of Hip Hip with memorable performances from rap legends including KRS1, Big Daddy, and Fat Joe.
