CNN’s Christiane Amanpour And Husband Jamie Rubin Are Divorcing
CNN reporter Christiane Amanpour and her husband Jamie Rubin are getting a divorce after 20 years of marriage.
60-year-old Christiane and 58-year-old Jamie got married in August 1998 in Bracciano, Italy, after meeting a year earlier and they have an 18-year-old son named Darius.
Christiane, who was born to an Iranian father and a British mother in London and raised in Tehran, is a highly accomplished journalist who has won countless awards, including Emmys and Peabodys, as well as numerous honorary doctorates and degrees for her work.
While talking to Oprah Winfrey, Christiane called Jamie a “true hero”, and told her how he moved to London to be with her and care for their son Darius, saying: “Jamie is the poster child for good husbands.”
People reports that Christiane and Jamie remain close friends as the divorce is an amicable one.
Even in the process of their divorce, the Washington Post reported the couple appeared together last weekend at their only child Darius’ graduation from the 500-year-old English boarding school for boys, Tonbridge School in Kent.
