Renowned Nigerian music stars, Davido, Zlatan, including American and British rappers Quavo and Russ and others have all attended Asake’s Atlanta concert.
As Asake headlined the second date of his ‘Lungu Boy’ at a sold-out concert at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Davido and Zlatan came for the event on August 21, 2024.
The rave of the moment in Nigerian music and beyond, Asake will be headlining notable venues including the Toyota Centre in Houston, State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and the Maddison Square Garden in New York, with his ‘Lungu Boy’ tour.
Interestingly, Asake’s tour is coming at a moment when his third album, “Lungu Boy” attracted global attention after its release.
The album has heavyweights in the music industry such as Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American superstar Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmilla.
One of the feats achieved after the release of Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ is a new record for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria after garnering 18.9 streams in its opening.
The album has also broken the previous record of 14.4 million streams held by Davido’s ‘Timeless’.
Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ also went further to lead the list for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria which includes Davido, Rema, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.
Asake is also the only artist with two albums in the top 10 with his sophomore album ‘Work Of Art’ garnering 8.3 million in its opening week.
