Canadian rapper, Drake has given his fans something to enjoy during this isolation period as he dropped a brand new mixtape midnight on Thursday, titled “Dark Lane Demo Tapes”.
Drake had earlier in the day announced the new project in an Instagram post. ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ is made up of 14 songs featuring guest appearances by Playboi Carti, Chris Brown, Giveon, Future and Young Thug. It includes previously-released tracks “Toosie Slide,” “Desires,” “When to Say When,” “Chicago Freestyle,” and “War.”
Southside, Pi’erre Bourne, Noah “40” Shebib, and Plain Pat are among the producers credited on the album.
In addition to announcing the mixtape, Drake also wrote that his next studio album is slated to arrive this summer. His last studio album was 2018’s “Scorpion” and in 2019 he released the “Care Package” compilation.
It’s been a busy few months for Drake. In April, Billboard announced that the rapper had become the first male artist to have debuted three songs at No. 1 on its Hot 100 songs chart.
The entry of his latest single, “Toosie Slide,” in the top spot helped him tie with Mariah Carey, who had three No. 1 debuts on the Hot 100 in 1995-97.
