Sound Sultan Laid To Rest

Nigerian music star Olarenwaju Fasasi popularly known as Sound Sultan has been laid to rest.

He was buried according to Islamic injunction at the Marlboro Muslim cemetery in New Jersey on Sunday, July 11, the same day he died.

Sound Sultan, 44, passed on after a “hard-fought battle” with with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which is a group of related cancers that affect the lymphatic system.

Until his death, the veteran Nigerian artiste who will always be remembered for his philosophical song, “Jabganjantis” was survived by a wife, Farida, three children and his siblings.

Among those present at the funeral were his wife, Farida, and close family members.

Farida was inconsolable as her husband was laid to rest.
