American actor Angus Cloud tragically passed away on Monday, with a suspected case of drug overdose. He was 25.
The devastating news was confirmed after Cloud’s mother made a distressing 911 call at 11:30 am local time, reporting a “possible overdose” and revealing that Angus was unresponsive.
Upon the arrival of the Oakland Police Department and Fire Department, the actor was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a heart-wrenching statement to TMZ, Angus Cloud’s family disclosed that the actor died in his family home in Oakland, California. His passing comes amidst the profound grief he experienced from losing his father recently.
Last week, his father was laid to rest in Ireland, and sources close to the family reveal that Angus had been grappling with overwhelming thoughts of suicide since then.
“The statement read, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
“Last week, he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
The statement continued, “We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Cloud was a rising actor best known for his role in the HBO drama “Euphoria”, where he played the role of Fezco “Fez” O’Neill , a drug dealer and friend to the main character, Rue, played by Zendaya. His other acting credits included the films “North Hollywood” (2021) and “The Line” (2023).
