Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose presented himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday and eventually spent his first day out of office in the EFCC detention cell.
Fayose was asked to write a statement on his alleged receipt of N1.3 billion from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
The EFCC maintains that the money totalling N4.6 billion was part of the funds stolen from defence vote.
As at Tuesday night, the former governor was still busy writing the statement. A source said that he denied the allegation.
He arrived the EFCC old office at Wuze 2 FCT, Abuja in a dramatic from on Tuesday in the company of his lawyer Mike Ozhekome (SAN) and the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.
