Flamingos Beat New Zealand 4-1 In FIFA U-17 World Cup Opener

Nigeria’s Flamingos  on Wednesday night defeated New Zealand 4-1 in their Group A opener of their 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup campaign.

Taking the lead within 80 seconds of the match, the Nigerian team wasted no time, to dominate and continued to showcase their attacking prowess throughout the game.

This effort brought three more goals before New Zealand managed a consolation goal late in the second half.

The win shows the Flamingos’ strong form, and has raised hopes for a successful tournament. Nigeria’s relentless performance left no doubt about their intentions in the competition, as they seek to build on their successful history in youth football.
