Gideon vs. Jim: A Nollywood Feud Reloaded

Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke has apologized for his recent outbursts—but not without dropping one final bombshell: that Jim Iyke once allegedly tried to shoot him.

In a deeply personal Instagram video posted on August 4, Okeke offered a heartfelt apology to fans, the film industry, and colleagues for his past fiery rants against fellow actor Jim Iyke. Describing his recent conduct as “totally way out of character,” the Tinsel star begged for forgiveness, confessing, “If I still have any supporters left… I am sorry.”

But his apology came with a chilling revelation.

Okeke reiterated an explosive allegation: that Jim Iyke once attempted to shoot him on January 18, 2024, during a film shoot. “If that attempt had succeeded,” he said gravely, “an obituary wouldn’t have been fair on me either.”

Ceasefire or Cover-Up?

Despite his olive branch, Okeke didn’t mince words about what he perceives as a wall of silence. He accused witnesses of the alleged firearm incident of turning a blind eye and feigning ignorance.

In his words, the incident was formally reported to the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), yet nearly a year later, there’s been no official statement, inquiry, or action. “September 26 will make it exactly one year since I filed the report,” he stated, highlighting his frustration with industry inaction.

“I will cease and desist from now. I’m sorry. Pardon me. Forgive me. Point is made,” he concluded, leaving fans stunned and divided.

Rewinding the Reel: A Feud with Layers

The Okeke-Iyke feud is more than just a clash of personalities—it’s been building up for months:

Injury on Set: In December 2024, Okeke claimed he was injured while filming a Jim Iyke project, requiring two stitches and a three-month recovery. He alleged he received no compensation or concern, and called for AGN to introduce stronger safety measures for actors.

Sin and Slander: When Jim Iyke’s thriller Sin: The First Kill dropped in July 2025, Okeke tore into the film, calling it a “waste” and openly ridiculing its alleged $2.5 million (₦9 billion) budget. He urged Prime Video to demand a refund and labeled Iyke a “waste pipe” and “Sakamajay”—a local insult.

Birthday Backlash: Earlier that month, he blasted Iyke again—this time for posting a birthday message to actress Kate Henshaw that Okeke deemed narcissistic and inappropriate.
