How KCee’s ‘Limpopo’ Almost Featured Global Superstar Beyoncé

Nigerian music executive Soso Soberekon has revealed that KCee’s 2013 smash hit “Limpopo” was originally set to feature global superstar Beyoncé in what could have been a historic Afrobeat collaboration.

The ambitious plan, backed by a Nigerian billionaire, aimed to not only bring Beyoncé to Nigeria for a concert but also secure her vocals on the track.

Soberekon detailed how they traveled to New York, making connections at Jay-Z’s club and negotiating with an agent to finalize the deal. With high hopes, KCee even recorded the song with Beyoncé’s potential verse in mind.

However, despite all the groundwork, the dream collaboration never materialized, as Beyoncé’s team ultimately turned down the project, leaving KCee’s camp heartbroken.
