Fuji music icon, Musibau Alani, has broken his silence on allegations that he ‘snatched’ Fali, the mother of Afrobeats superstar Asake, from her ex-husband, Odunsi, popularly known as Malo.
In a recent interview, Alani dismissed the claims, stating that when he met Fali, she was already separated from Malo, and he had no involvement in their breakup.
Setting the record straight, Alani explained that Fali was a single mother when they crossed paths, and he was unaware of her past marriage. Their relationship eventually led to marriage and three children, though heartbreakingly, two have passed away. Refuting further rumors, Alani made it clear that he was neither present at Asake’s naming ceremony nor did he perform at the event, as some had speculated.
Speaking on his relationship with Asake, the Fuji veteran revealed that after marrying Fali, she moved in with him along with her son, Ahmed (now known as Asake), whom he helped raise. He recounted a cordial encounter with Malo, where the latter expressed appreciation for his role in caring for Asake.
Alani’s response comes amid growing social media chatter fueled by Malo’s recent claims that Asake has abandoned him. The unfolding narrative has reignited discussions about the singer’s family history, prompting Alani to clear the air and affirm his stance.
