Rapper J. Cole honored the late Nipsey Hussle onstage on Saturday during his performance at his inaugural Dreamville Festival in North Carolina.
The hitmaker dedicated his track “Love Yourz” to Nipsey at the sold-out event, as video footage of the slain MC was shown on the big screens around the stage.
He also encouraged fans to keep holding up the lights on their cellphones to remember the tragic star and social activist, who was gunned down outside his Los Angeles clothing store on March 31.
J. Cole wasn’t the only performer at the festival who had Nipsey in their thoughts – Big Sean delivered a somber freestyle during his set and reflected on his final text conversation with the 33-year-old.
Sean concluded the tribute by thanking his late pal for inspiring him and so many others to do what they can to give back to their communities.
