Liverpool Beat Chelsea 2-1 To Secure Top Spot In EPL

Liverpool secured the top spot in the English Premier League on Sunday, after beating Chelsea 2-`1 at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah scored the opening goal through a first-half penalty, which was earned by Curtis Jones’ all-action performance.

Chelsea dominated possession but found it difficult to convert that into goals, though Nicolas Jackson eventually leveled the match with a crucial equalizer.

Curtis Jones who scored the match-winner in the second half to secure the victory, delivered for Liverpool.

The result triggered comments from Manager Arne Slot who hailed the game as the “hardest” test yet under his leadership, tagging it a defining moment in Liverpool’s season.

With Chelsea showcasing impressive control, this result reasserted Liverpool’s credentials as a serious title contender this season, as they now stay above Manchester City, maintaining their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
