Macron Visits Afrika Shrine, Tasks Nigerian Youths On Politics (PHOTOS)
French President, Emmanuel Macron visited the Afrikan Shrine, Agidimgbi, Ikeja Tuesday night where he challenged Nigerian youths to get involved in politics.
Macron who was accompanied by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to Fela’s shrine said that only Africans could change the image of Africa in the comity of nation.
Macron noted the energy in Nigerian youths as he advised them to channel it towards playing active role in politics.
Asked to relive some of his experiences during his six-month stay in Nigeria between 2003 and 2004 when he created time to visit the shrine, the French President said, “What happens in the shrine remains in the shrine”.
To him, the youths have crucial roles to play in the development and growth of a nation.
Macron described the Afrika Shrine as an iconic place of strength, music, culture and the late Fela as a politician who wanted a change for the society.
“I am very happy to be here. Let me remind you that this place — shrine is a music place as well as politics which is needed to change the society.
