In a recent TikTok live session, Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, expressed confusion over his son’s choice to register two plots of land in the name of his grandson, Liam.
Aloba remarked, “When he came back from tour, Mohbad told me he had bought two plots of land at Elepe in Liam’s name, and I don’t know why. As a father, I never bought anything and put Mohbad’s name on it in my life, so why will he buy something in Liam’s name?”
These comments have ignited widespread criticism on social media, with many accusing Aloba of displaying entitlement and insensitivity. Critics argue that Mohbad’s decision was likely intended to secure his son’s future, and Aloba’s remarks appear to prioritize personal interests over his late son’s wishes.
This controversy adds to the ongoing disputes surrounding Mohbad’s estate and the management of his assets following his untimely death.
