Nigeria’s Flying Eagles’ Stun Ghana 2-1 To 2024 Win WAFU Cup

Nigeria’s U-20 football team, the Flying Eagles, on October 30, 2024, successfully retained the WAFU B U-20 Championship title with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Ghana’s Black Satellites in an interesting final at the Stade Robert Champroux.

The game showcased the team’s strong defense and tactical play as Nigeria took an early lead with impressive teamwork, and though Ghana managed to respond with a single goal.

With this significant win, the Flying Eagles’ have built a reputation in West African football as well as maintained their momentum.

They ultimately securing their second consecutive title in this tournament,  as they previously won the championship two years ago.

Coach Ladan Bosso praised the team’s discipline and strategic focus, which allowed them to effectively counter Ghana’s attempts to equalize late in the game.

The victory also bolstered Nigeria’s position as a regional powerhouse, fueling anticipation for future competitions
