New rules made known by French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli will stop Serena Williams from wearing her black catsuit at the French Open.
Giudicelli said the dress code was being introduced because “sometimes we’ve gone too far.” He also added, “one must respect the game and the place.”
On Saturday after defeating Kristyna Pliskova in the first round at Roland Garros, Williams responded to the decision, via ESPN:

Sportswear brand Nike took to its Instagram page to support Williams writing:
“You can take the superhero out of her costume, but you can never take away her superpowers. #justdoit”
This year’s French Open was Williams’ first appearance in a Grand Slam tournament after announcing her pregnancy in April 2017.
