Nollywood actress Ada Ameh has died. She passed away on Sunday at NNPC hospital in Warri, Delta State.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria’s president, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the actress’s passing.
“We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada,” Rollas told a correspondent.
Reports claim that she was a guest of a prominent executive of an oil firm and his family when she abruptly slumped during a celebration.
It was gathered that “The Johnsons” star was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s hospital but passed on before they arrived at the facility.
A few weeks ago Ada revealed that she been struggling with mental health issues.
“Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now and it is taking my life. I nor go die. We will get over it, we will get over it. I was given a job and I didn’t do the job because I had mental issues,” she said.
“Would people understand when you say you have mental issues? They won’t. They are slamming me with a bill, suing me, it’s okay.”
The actress, in October 2020, lost her daughter, Aladi Godgift, who was over 30 years old after an operation gone wrong. Her daughter was her only child.
Ada Ameh rose to stardom in the 1996 hit movie “Domitilla” and also played the popular character of Emu Johnson in the award winning Nigerian television series, “The Johnsons”.
