Veteran Nollywood actor, Victor Olaotan, has died at age 69.
Olaotan passed away on Thursday night, August 26, 2021, after a prolonged illness.
His wife, Julia Olaotan confirmed the news on Friday morning saying she is grateful that her husband can finally go to rest after suffering for years.
“He has tried. It is not easy to be trapped in your own body for five years. He can finally rest now,” she said.
The self-styled actor who returned to Nigeria from United Kingdom to make impact in the movie industry, was involved in a motor accident in Lagos, along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in 2016. This accident left him bedridden for five years.
At some point, several of his colleagues solicited funds to help get the movie veteran back to his feet. In 2018, Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, had donated N39 million for his medical bills.
He was best known for his role in the Nigerian TV series “Tinsel”.
