The Lagos state government has made it mandatory for all residents entering a public gathering during the yelutide season to show proof of vaccination.
The state governor; Babajide Sanwo-olu, in a statement revealed the recently discovered omicron variant has driven up the number of confirmed cases forcing the state government to take action.
The governor adds that those traveling into Lagos are also compelled to abide by the new guidelines by the presidential steering committee as those who violate these protocols will have their passports blacklisted for a year while foreigners found wanting will face deportation.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu adds that those involved in fake vaccination tests and those producing or procuring fake vaccination cards will be prosecuted by the state’s mobile courts.
Residents who meet the criteria can now get booster jabs across the state with each vaccination dose now to cost 4,500.
