Onga Serves Culture Hot At AMVCA 2025

Onga didn’t just show up to the AMVCA 2025 Culture Day—they seasoned the celebration to perfection.

In a dazzling fusion of food, flair, and folklore, the iconic Nigerian seasoning brand ignited the senses with its signature event: “Festival of Flavours.”

From spicy pots to ancestral rhythms, it was more than a party—it was a love letter to Africa.

From Firewood to Red Carpet: A Continental Culinary Carnival

At the heart of the Onga Village—set in the lush grounds of Eko Hotel & Suites—visitors were whisked into a delicious time capsule. Traditional delicacies from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones were proudly plated: steaming Egusi and Yellow Garri, rich Amala and Ewedu, spicy Banga and Starch, and the ever-iconic Ofada with Ayamase. Add grilled goat meat, palm wine, and the festive aroma of tradition—and every plate told a story.

But this wasn’t just Naija’s moment. Guests were given a passport to West, East, and Central Africa, featuring dishes such as Ghanaian Banku, Kenyan Pilau with Tozo, and Rwandan Beef Matoke, each carefully infused with a flavorful essence.

Where Style Meets Storytelling

Cultural Day doubled as a runway of roots. Host Bisola Aiyeola blended grace with tradition, leading an ensemble of Nollywood stars including Stan Nze, Bam Bam, Iyabo Ojo, and the evergreen RMD—all stunning in regal African fashion. The garments weren’t just fabric; they were generational testaments sewn with pride.

Then came the crowd-favorite “Onga Owambe Moment”—a spirited dance eruption led by Segun Johnson, complete with talking drums, gyrating hips, and confetti showers of—yes—actual seasoning sachets.

Seasoning Culture with Purpose

Promasidor Nigeria’s Marketing Director, Adebola Williams, made it clear: Onga’s presence goes beyond taste. “This is our third year with AMVCA, and each time, we push deeper into our mission—celebrating the values, voices, and visual languages that make Africa powerful.”

To back it up, Onga sponsored pivotal award categories like:

Best Indigenous Language Film (won by Lisabi, starring Lateef Adedimeji)

 Best Scripted Series (Inside Life)

 Best Non-Scripted Series (Wa Milele)

More Than a Brand—A Cultural Compass

With Festival of Flavours, Onga proved once again that culture isn’t only told on screens—it’s cooked in pots, wrapped in gele, and danced barefoot in open courtyards. From spice racks to center stage, Onga isn’t just enhancing taste; it’s preserving heritage, igniting pride, and seasoning the African story for generations to come.
